SHORT BIO

Hi there🤗! I am a Postdoc Research Fellow at University of Michigan—Ann Arbor working with Dr. David Jurgens jointly affiliated with School of Information and UMich CSE since 2023.8. I accomplished my Ph.D. at PennState University during 2019.9 - 2023.7, advised by Dr. Ting-hao (Kenneth) Huang and closely worked with Dr. Sherry Tongshuang Wu from CMU. I feel very fortunate to be trained by and work with my amazing advisors. Thank you all 🧡!

Also, I conducted speech processing research during my research interns with the fantastic Google AI Research and Amazon Alexa AI teams. My amazing advisors include Dr. Andreas Stolcke, Dr. Vicky Zayats, Dr. Yuguang Yang, Dr. Jari Kolehmainen, etc. I appreciate all of them here!

Additionally, I appreciate the wonderful year working with Dr. Brian D. Davison at Lehigh University. Before this, I've received my M.S. and B.S. degrees from the Renmin University of China and University of Science and Technology Beijing, respectively.

RESEARCH INTEREST

I am broadly interested in helping humans explain and communicate with AI models (e.g., large language models) via interactions or conversations and, moreover, enhancing AI models by aligning their behavior with human feedback.

Research keywords: human-centered AI explanation and fairness, interactive and conversational AI explanations, human-AI interaction, human-LLM interaction and alignment, AI-assisted writing support systems, etc.
