I am a tenure-track assistant professor of Computer Science at
NYU Shanghai, affiliated with the
NYU Tandon School of Engineering and
NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
I broadly pursue interdisciplinary research connecting
AI/ML with
HCI/Social Computing.
Specifically, I initiated the research on
Bidirectional Human-AI Alignment (
Systematic Review,
ICLR & CHI 2025 Workshop,
NeurIPS 2025 Tutorial,
NYU Shanghai Course).
My research aims to:
"Maximizing Capabilities AND Minimizing Risks in Human-AI Co-Evolution"
My study enables humans to interactively explain, audit, and collaborate with agentic AI (Align Humans with AI), while integrates human feedback and values to improve agentic AI (Align AI with Humans), achieving a complete loop of Bidirectional Humans↔AI Alignment.
About Me
I was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Washington iSchool and RAISE Center (2024-2025), and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Michigan UMSI and CSE (2023-2024). I obtained my Ph.D. degree at Penn State (2019-2023). I also interned in Google Research (now Google DeepMind) and Amazon Alexa AI (now Amazon AGI).
